Dramatis Personae

Jon: A warrior with some connection to birds. He carries a small axe and a sword.

Graeme: A grey gelding (Stallion? Wouldn't stallions be humping their way across the plains? I thought Jon had some sort of control over birds, not horny horses.)

Shay: A female hawk

Balts: A tribe of swarthy-skinned bandits.

The Wagonners:

Motaxi: Old Man, Leader of Wagonners

Arianna: A child, 5 years old.

Corinna: Arianna's mother.
